Whole-Home Entertainment, Automation & Connectivity

Techkinect upgraded this Waynesville, Ohio home with an integrated Control4 automation and entertainment system designed to bring the home's audio, video, networking and connected technology together into one cohesive platform.

At the heart of the system is a Control4 CORE 5 controller installed within a dedicated equipment rack. The centralized system also incorporates a Triad audio matrix and multi-zone amplifier, managed network switching and WattBox power management to provide a professional foundation for the home's connected systems.

Control4 Home Automation

Control4 provides the homeowner with a centralized platform for controlling entertainment and connected devices throughout the residence. Control4 Halo remotes were incorporated into several entertainment areas, providing a consistent interface rather than requiring separate remotes for televisions, receivers and streaming devices.

Select lighting was also incorporated into the Control4 system using adaptive-phase dimmers, allowing lighting and entertainment control to work together within the home's automation platform. The project included Control4 equipment in the basement theater, living room and primary bedroom.

Basement Home Theater

The basement theater was integrated into the Control4 system and upgraded with a Marantz Cinema 70S AV receiver, KEF KUBE subwoofer, Roku Ultra and Control4 Halo remote. A Control4 keypad dimmer was also incorporated, bringing lighting control into the theater experience.

This provides the homeowner with simplified control of the theater's entertainment and lighting systems from a unified Control4 interface.

Living Room Entertainment

The main living room received another integrated entertainment system built around a Marantz Cinema 70S receiver, KEF subwoofer and Triad passive soundbar. A dedicated Control4 CORE 1 provides local system control, while a Halo remote and Roku Ultra create a straightforward everyday entertainment experience.

Whole-Home Audio

Centralized Triad audio distribution allows the system to support audio throughout multiple areas of the home. The equipment rack incorporates a Triad eight-channel audio matrix and four-zone/eight-channel power amplifier, creating a scalable foundation for distributed audio.

Professional Home Network

Because reliable automation and streaming depend on a reliable network, the home's network infrastructure was also upgraded. The system includes an Araknis router, managed network switching and three Araknis Wi-Fi 6 wireless access points to improve connectivity throughout the residence.

Control4 Video Doorbell

At the home's entryway, Techkinect installed a hardwired Control4 Chime Ethernet video doorbell, extending the Control4 ecosystem to the front entrance and providing another connected component within the home's technology system.

Primary Bedroom Entertainment

The primary bedroom was upgraded with a 65-inch Sony television, Denon Home soundbar and wireless subwoofer, Roku Ultra and Control4 Halo remote. The room also incorporates a Control4 adaptive-phase dimmer for integrated lighting control.

The completed project brings automation, entertainment, audio, networking and entry technology together under a professionally designed infrastructure—making the home's technology easier to use while leaving room for future expansion.
